Karen Oelsen / Avila
As a business marketing graduate of Texas State University, Karen knew early on she was made for the people-driven industry.
28 years ago, Karen put her entrepreneurial spirit to the test and founded ESP, what started as light industrial recruiting soon morphed into a Medical Staffing Agency in 1998.
Our favorite saying is "It's a small big world" because you never know who you may run into.

Brooke Avila
Starting off in service industry, Brooke always knew she had a skill with connecting to people.
Brooke joined the team March 2024 and has enjoyed this roller coaster of a career. Each day is different for us and we are loving working together. Our best ideas are when we bounce off one another.
Brooke is very excited to grow ESP while learning from the best mentor.

Essential Staffing Professionals, Inc. (ESP) was founded September 4, 1996 by the President, Karen Avila/Oelsen. ESP is based on the premise that through hard work, honesty, and quality customer service, customer loyalty is the end result. To obtain this, we strive to provide only those candidates qualified for your specific positions. Not only do we test our employees to ensure that they have the skills required for the job, we feel that it’s the personality component that is most important. Personality that matches the culture is how we "find the right fit" for our clients.
ESP is a full-service boutique staffing company specializing in providing healthcare professionals in processing centers, clinical environments, as well as back-office support. We service various positions such as: front desk, surgery schedulers, Medical Assistants, as well as, direct hire for leadership roles.
ESP has several options in recruiting such as temporary to full-time as well as direct hire programs. The advantage to utilizing our temporary to full-time option is the fact that while the person is working at your facility, legally they are ESP’s employee until they complete contract hours of work. With this being said, ESP takes care of the pay of the temporary, FICA, FUTA, Worker’s Compensation and Texas Workforce (state unemployment) taxes; alleviating liability for you. As a locally owned, minority company, we have our office centrally located in order to best serve the Dallas Metroplex. Although we are a boutique firm, we will strive to provide that additional customer service that many large agencies lack or simply cannot provide. At ESP, every client is treated like a major account, no matter the annual usage.
